It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the Leaving Certificate Class of 2019 and the teaching Staff of Mount Anville School on the truly exceptional Leaving Certificate results this year.
This success was evident in all subject areas where participation rates at Higher Level were at 100% in 15 of the 19 subjects taken in Mount Anville.
The average points score nationwide was 335 points. In Mount Anville the average score was 510 points.
Three students achieved the perfect score of 625 points.
12 % scored 600-625 points
24% scored 550-600 points
30% scored 500-550
9% scored 450 – 500 points
14% scored 400-450 points
8% scored 350 – 400 points
3% scored 300 – 350 points
80% of the students sat Higher Level Maths – compared to a national average of 33% in all schools or 41% in Girls’ single sex schools. All candidates were successful.
It is evident from these statistics that Mount Anville Secondary School continues to live up to its wonderful reputation as a school which achieves the highest academic standards in conjunction with a full and varied extracurricular programme which the students actively participate in throughout their Senior Cycle years.
This year’s Leaving Certificate class also achieved great success in sport, art, music, drama and debating as well as a wide variety of other activities.
They enjoyed many Mount Anville traditions such as the Opening Mass, 6th Year holiday, 6th year retreat as well as organising a fabulous International Women’s Day event, visits to the Theatre, film festivals and the Annual Graduation Ceremony to mention a few.
All of these events and activities helped to enable the girls to achieve balance in their lives, to strengthen the bonds of friendship and to achieve great academic success.
We are very proud of our Mount Anville girls and we wish them every success in their future lives.
