Twelve Mount Anville Secondary School students attended the Model United Nations conference at Terenure College on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th September. They were appointed chairpersons of committees and delegates representing the countries of Argentina, Kazakhstan and Norway in committees such as Health and Youth, Social Cultural and Humanitarian, Human Rights, Economic and Financial and Ecology and Environment.
The students excelled as they lobbied and debated global and topical issues, including ensuring access to sustainable energy, the elimination of poverty in underdeveloped countries, resources for asylum seekers and the question of education in war zones.
