As we move into the Summer term, it is time to reflect on a very successful and enjoyable Badminton season for Mount Anville Secondary School.
The U16A badminton team;
Anna McCarthy (Captain), Orla O’ Donnell, Sarah Paran, Hayley Fanning and Eimear Mullen.
The above students played some excellent badminton to qualify for the Dublin Schools Badminton League final in Terenure Badminton Centre, where they received silver medals.
This achievement prompted an invitation to the U16 Leinster Badminton tournament in Baldoyle Badminton Centre, which was a great opportunity.
An excellent performance by all students.
The U16B badminton team;
Fionnuala O’ Leary (Captain), Sarah Jane Holmes, Helen Wu, Kate Murphy and Jahnavi Sinha also qualified for the Dublin School Badminton league final in Terenure Badminton Centre, where they were narrowly beaten and received silver medals, a fantastic result.
The U19A badminton team;
Catherine Deane (Captain), Kate O’ Hogan, Rachel McArdle and Ciara Dillon.
The above students also represented Mount Anville School in an exceptional manner showing commitment to their sport and school as well as maturity with some students on this team in their final year. They performed as great role models for the younger badminton players in the school.
After a season of highly intense and competitive singles and doubles matches in the Dublin Schools Badminton league, they were narrowly beaten in the semi-final.

The U19B badminton team;
Pippa Clarke, Emily Coffey, Isabel Ryan and Helena Paran all played extremely well in both singles and doubles matches in the Dublin Schools Badminton league and narrowly missed out on qualifying for next round on points difference.
They showed a brilliant display of team spirit and enthusiasm in all training sessions and matches.
Congratulations to all Badminton players, let’s look forward to next season and for those who have represented Mount Anville for the last time in Badminton, they have been a pleasure to teach and I hope you keep up your badminton far into your futures.
