Today we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart, a day that invites us to reflect upon the love of Jesus and the way His heart continues to inspire. Jesus calls us "Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart" (Matthew 11:29), reminding us that true strength is found in love, compassion and service. St. Madeleine Sophie Barat believed that education should help young people come to know that love of the Heart of Jesus and share that love with the world. Her vision lives on in our Sacred Heart goals.
Through Faith, we deepen our relationship with God and trust in His presence in our lives. Through Community, we support one another, creating a sense of belonging for all. Through Character, we strive to follow Jesus' example of honesty, respect and forgiveness. Through Intellect, we seek truth, grow in knowledge, and use our gifts wisely. Through Social Awareness, we respond to the needs of others and work for justice, peace and the common good.
As students, staff and families of a Sacred Heart School, we are guided by the mission of Sacred Heart education and the witness of the RSCJ community. May this charism continue to shape the Mount Anville school community and inspire all to show compassion, courage and hope.
Wishing everyone a blessed Feast of the Sacred Heart.
