Congratulations to Adona Deju Zewdie, who claimed gold in the discus in the Schools International Athletics event over the summer. Representing Mount Anville and Ireland, Adona threw a new personal best of 43:06 to claim the title, finishing over a metre ahead of her nearest competitor. In what was a busy summer, Adona also claimed medals in the All-Ireland Schools Championships, the Tailteann Games and the All-Ireland U18 club championships. In her final domestic competition of the summer, Adona was crowned All-Ireland U20 champion. We wish Adona the best of luck as she travels to Scotland to represent Ireland this weekend.
