Today Mount Anville celebrated the 175th anniversary of the first time the Irish flag was flown by Thomas F Meagher. Students expressed what they felt being Irish meant and what the Irish flag meant to them today in 2023. These expressions were displayed in the main entrance hall along with flags of students and staff from all around the world.
1st and 2nd Year students engaged in a flag raising ceremony during which students delivered speeches, played and sang Amhran na bhFiann. The symbolism of the flag was explained and its message of peace and inclusion for all was elucidated. We wish everyone in our school community a very happy, proud, peaceful St Patrick’s Day.
