Junior A's Beat Beaufort Leading Them into the Junior Cup Final!

On Friday, 9th December, the Junior A Hockey Team beat Loreto Beaufort in Beaufort in the Semi-Final of the Junior Cup in a thrilling match! The final score was 4-1 to Mount Anville, all though the score was not reflective of this tight game.

The first goal was scored by Sadbh Daly, then Beaufort equalised, leaving the score at 1-1 at half-time and the supporters very tense! Then Mount Anville scored as the ball was hit into the goal by the goalkeeper after a push on goal by Grace Keane. The next goal was scored by Keane, after a great pass from 2nd Year, India Cotter. And then a great goal was scored by Anna Dignam with Lisa Mulcahy from a well-worked short-corner. When the final whistle was blown, it was 4-1 to Mount Anville, with great shouts and cheers from the Mount Anville supporters who were all as delighted as the players after this great match!

The players were from Transition Year and 3rd Year - Grace Keane (Captain), Sarah O'Dea (Vice-Captain), Lisa Mulcahy, Julie Ringrose, Anna Dignam, Anna Tarpey, Anna Widger, Charlotte Cody, Sadbh Daly, Jessica Norris, Hannah Reidy, India Cotter , Cianna McMahon, Louise English, Éabha Coleman and Chloe Connell (absent for this match). They train twice weekly and have fitness on Thursday with the Junior B's and are coached by Ms Murphy.

The Junior Cup Final is on Thursday at 2pm in 3 Rock Rovers against Wesley College. The Junior's are undefeated this season and hope to continue this while winning the Junior Cup, which hasn't been won by Mount Anville in 8 years.

All support is welcome!
