Mount Anville Girls make winning statement in first Camogie Match

The students from Mount Anville created a memorable chapter in the school’s sporting history on Friday last as they took to the pitch for their very first competitive camogie match. Competing in the Dublin Minor (U14) Schools Camogie Championships, the team rose to the occasion with enthusiasm, determination and school spirit, as they took on Coláiste Pobail Fóla of Saggart.

From the opening whistle, the girls displayed impressive skill and teamwork, embracing the challenge of championship camogie with confidence. Their commitment and passion for the game were evident throughout, making the occasion a proud one for players, and coaches alike.

A number of players delivered standout performances on the day. Grace Jolly, Annie McAuliffe, Peggy Meehan, Lauren Heraty, Alice Brosnan, Isobel Ballie and Ciara Buckley all made significant contributions, showcasing strong work rates, excellent skills and a great attitude on the field. Mount Anville won out on a score line of 13-6 to 0-0, and their efforts set a high standard for future Mount Anville camogie teams.

This historic match marks an exciting beginning for camogie at Mount Anville, and with such a promising start, the future of the sport in the school looks bright.
