On November 18th, we celebrate the feast day of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, the Society of the Sacred Heart religious sister, educator and pioneer who travelled from Paris, France in 1818 to bring Sacred Heart education to the new world.
Mount Anville has been involved in a collaborative prayer initiative with Sacred Heart Schools worldwide.
St. Rose affectionally known as the woman who always prays, demonstrated her personal relationship with the Divine through prayer.
Today there will be a student led prayer assembly over the intercom to honour the life and legacy of St. Rose Philippine. Prayers in honour of St. Rose Philippine in various languages written by students in Sacred Heart schools globally will be read. It will be a time for us to pray and to unite as a Sacred Heart international faith community.
May we be inspired by the vision and mission of St. Rose Philippine to bring the love of the heart of Jesus to all.
