Last week we celebrated “Stand Up Awareness Week”. To mark the occasion, we organised many activities to celebrate and embrace our differences. This included; a quote projected onto the plasma screens every day, a special lunch where students brought in their favourite foods and foods from different cultures around the world. On Friday the whole school community wore coloured t-shirts and jumpers. We all assembled in the Concert Hall and took a whole school photo while creating the pride flag (see photo attached). We were very fortunate to have Patricia Carey attend this assembly, and say a few words. She is currently the chairperson of “Belong To” (the national LGBTQ+ youth organisation).
Many thanks to all involved in organising the various activities throughout the week.
