The Veronica Dunne Memorial Cup competition was held last Thursday and proved to be a fantastic event. The performers were Tong Wei Wang, Lily Yang, Aoife McPolin, Caroline Croke, Nina Sheehan, and Winnie Zhao.
It was an outstanding competition, with an exceptionally high standard of performance from all participants. Lily Yang was named the winner of the Veronica Dunne Memorial Cup. Lily played the piano and performed an impressive selection of pieces by Tchaikovsky, Ravel, and Chopin.
The adjudicator, Sarah Sew, Professor of Violin and Head of Chamber Music at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, was incredibly impressed by all the competitors and awarded each performer a highly recommended mark.
This is a competition that continues to grow with each passing year, and with so many wonderful musicians in Mount Anville, it is sure to become even more popular in the years ahead.
