Transition Year Retreat – Wednesday, 6th May 2026

Transition Year students took part in a meaningful and reflective retreat through the Pilgrim Path programme, held in Dublin City Centre on Wednesday, 6th May. The experience provided students with an opportunity to step away from the usual school routine and engage in a day focused on faith exploration, reflection, and quiet contemplation.

Accompanied by Mr Aherne, Ms Hughes, Ms Fitzgerald, and Ms Fox, students visited churches, each rich in history, art, and architecture. Guided throughout the day, they learned about the significance of each sacred space while also being encouraged to pray, pause, reflect, and appreciate the atmosphere of stillness and peace within them.

A key element of the retreat was the Pilgrim Path booklet, which students used to record their thoughts and reflections as they moved between locations. The booklet also provided prompts designed to support mindfulness, self-awareness, and personal reflection.

In addition to exploring the cultural and historical importance of the churches, students were given time for quiet reflection and meditation, allowing them to slow down and fully engage with the experience.

The TY Pilgrim Path retreat proved to be a valuable and enriching day, offering students the chance to connect with their personal faith journey as well as history and community, while also sharing a calm and meaningful experience together.
