Other Information
Language Classes
A change to the language timetable has been implemented. Students are now assigned entirely to their chosen language for the full duration of the year. Any student who thinks they might choose both Spanish and French for the Leaving Cert should contact Mr. Rogers to work out arrangements to benefit from both classes.
Update on Barnardos Collection
Unfortunately, I was informed by Barnardos late on Wednesday night that the scheduled bag-packing event would have to be cancelled. We will endeavour to link up with them again in the future. Note, 22nd Nov, we will be working with Living Well With Dementia to assist them in Cornelscourt with a similar venture.
CS Sparks, UCD
Mount Anville is in negotiations with UCD to take part in the CS Sparks Computer Science programme. See below for more information.
“This November we are running the third iteration of CS Sparks. CS Sparks will run on the final four Fridays in November (8, 15, 22, and 29). Students will attend sessions in UCD, Belfield. The first three dates are approximately 2-4:30PM). Nov 30 will be an hour or two longer as there is a graduation and awards ceremony after the normal session. Parents and teachers of participating students will be invited to the graduation and awards ceremony”
To express interest in this programme, students should complete the form on the Schoology account.
Optional Grease: The Musical Excursion
As Mount Anville will be performing Grease as its annual TY musical, our directorial team have offered to chaperone interested students to the matinee, 25th Sept, performance of the show. This is an optional extra element to the TY programme, to coincide with the musical being performed in the Bord Gáis at present. The cost of the tickets are €36. Students wishing to attend as part of a travelling group should bring in the price for tickets on Monday 16th Sept and tickets will be ordered based on the numbers provided.
