At Mount Anville Secondary School, sports play a key role in student life, encouraging physical fitness, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition. There is a diverse range of extracurricular sports available, ensuring that students of all interests and skill levels can find something they enjoy.

Hockey is one of the most popular sports at Mount Anville, with a proud history and extensive program that caters to all year groups. The school offers training and competition opportunities, allowing students to learn teamwork and improve their skills in an engaging environment. Basketball is another vibrant part of the sports scene. Open to students of all

ages, Mount Anville provides a space for aspiring basketball players to practice and compete, fostering athletic ability as well as confidence on the court.

For students who enjoy Athletics, Mount Anville offers a wide variety of track and field disciplines, including running, jumping, and throwing events. Athletics is available to all students, and activities take place primarily during the summer term. Mount Anville also offers a Cross-Country team, which is open to students of all levels—beginner to advanced. This winter-term activity.

Badminton and Tennis are both popular racquet sports offered at the school. Badminton is available to students from Year 3 to Year 6, while Tennis is open to all year groups and takes place during the summer term. For those who prefer team field sports, GAA is available for students from Year 3 to Year 6, offering a chance to develop skills in one of Ireland’s most beloved sports.

Soccer is also available to a selected group of students (senior team) focusing on skill development, fitness, and teamwork, while the Strength & Conditioning classes cater specifically to senior students (Year 4 to Year 6) looking to improve their overall physical fitness in a structured and supportive environment.
