Mount Anville Secondary School is delighted to enter the second year of our Rose Bursary Programme. Named in honour of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, an important figure in Sacred Heart Education, this programme has been developed to offer opportunities to students for whom the social and financial resources to access such an educational experience are not available. Thus far, this programme has proven to be a successful venture for the school and for the students who have joined us as part of the Rose Bursary, and we are all very looking forward to entering our second year.
This Bursary differs from scholarship programmes in that it is not based on academic, sporting, or other merit. The purpose of the programme is to offer a six-year, fully inclusive secondary education to young women who may not otherwise have the resources to attend Mount Anville Secondary School due to social and financial barriers. The Rose Bursary aims to fulfil St. Madeleine Sophie Barat's vision of providing Sacred Heart Education to all, the school has sought to honour this vision and to answer the challenge of the Sacred Heart Goal of “Social Awareness”.
Mount Anville Secondary School encourages young women to achieve their potential for leadership, to value the important contribution they can make to our society and to develop a keen sense of care for others. Our school has a reputation for academic excellence and a strong tradition in both sport and the arts. Within a culture of hard work, positive learning experiences, a strong pastoral care system and excellent facilities, we strive to enable each student to grow to her full potential and to develop her gifts and talents.
