“To promote the personal, social, educational and vocational development of pupils and to prepare them for their role as autonomous, participative, and responsible members of society.”
In Mount Anville all pupils are obliged to take Transition Year after completing their Junior Certificate Examination. The TY Programme in Mount Anville has been designed to act as a bridge between Junior and Senior Cycle. It offers educational experiences where the emphasis will be on the personal, social, spiritual and vocational development of each individual student, with a view to the attainment of increased maturity. It will enable the students to take greater responsibility for their own learning and decision making. The students will participate in learning strategies which are active and experimental and which will help them to develop a range of transferable critical thinking and creative problem solving skills. It provides the students to broaden their educational experiences beyond the classroom.
